Graham Co. to take over CCC facility.(News)(Consolidated Container Co. LLC)(Graham Packaging Co. LP.)(Brief Article)

Procter & Gamble Co. has worked out an agreement to transfer a PET blow molding operation from Consolidated Container Co. LLC to Graham Packaging Co. LP. The Kansas City operation will change hands in 30-60 days, with Graham rehiring most of the 75 employees, said Jeff Greene, senior vice president of CCC's consumer packaging group.
The site makes detergent bottles for P&G. P&G, the facility's owner, had asked CCC to invest in the PET lines as part of an extension of its contract. CCC, a larger player in high density polyethylene containers, decided it would rather invest in its HDPE operations and worked with P&G to find another supplier, Greene said.
