Plastics News, November, 2006
Consumer products injection molder Mid America Products Inc. has shut its doors, officially stopping operations in Gardner the first week of October. The closing affected roughly 150 workers. One source said the company was affected by an inability to pass on resin price increases to key customers.
The company started in the 1990s as Mid America Plastics and was taken over by its current owner in 2001, when it was renamed Mid America Products. Branford Group will auction Mid America's equipment at the 100,000-square-foot plant on Nov. 15. According to Branford, machinery includes 23 injection molding presses ranging from 75-1,450 tons of clamping force.
