Now things are about to get worse. Industry watchers are predicting that U.S.

auto sales will fall to their lowest level in nine years, with a projected 16.2 million cars and trucks to be sold in 2007 - down from 16.4 million for 2006. While sales numbers may remain stable or even grow for Japanese automakers like Toyota Motor Corp. and Honda Motor Co.
