The 1995 European Conference on Advanced Powder Metallurgy Materials (EURO PM95), held in Birmingham, U.K., October 23-25, was one of a series of conferences organized by the European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) featuring specific areas of powder metallurgy. The wide range of topics, from automotive applications to sprayformed aerospace alloys, attracted specialists from 28 countries.

Keynote speaker Joe Khanuja (Ford Motor Co., Detroit, Mich.) said the auto industry views P/M as in important technology with enormous potential, noting the growth in parts per vehicle is up form 9.5 kg (21 lb) in 1989 to 17.2 kg (38 lb) in 1994.
