A dual-phase steel that is said to raise strength, improve formability, and reduce weight has been announced by United States Steel, Tray, Mich. Designated Dual-Ten, the steel also reportedly enhances crash performance. DualTen590 is currently being applied by major automakers, and other grades are being qualified and implemented.
