Four projects announced to raise gas turbine lifespan.

With nine out of every ten power plants to be built in the next decade likely to burn natural gas, the Department of Energy has announced that it is supporting a $13.4 million effort to raise the lifespan of advanced gas turbine systems. Two will focus on protecting components from high heat, and the others will focus on improving stability and performance.
