A seamless modeling paste developed by Ren Shape Tooling Systems, Vantico Inc., East Lansing, Mich., is reportedly enabling Cessna Aircraft Co. to produce stretch-form dies for jet tail cone sections in a fraction of the time required to build conventional fiberglass/epoxy tooling. In addition to saving time, the large paste dies exhibit outstanding accuracy because surfaces are machined directly from computer data.
