Ford introduces new diesel engine technology. (Automotive).

Ford has entered a new era in diesel engineering with its cuttingedge, second-generation, commonrail engine family -- Duratorq TDCi. The new engines will be offered as a premium diesel option in the best selling Ford Focus and Mondeo vehicles. This new technology, said to offer operating characteristics akin to gasoline engines, also will be featured in the all-new Ford Fiesta when it goes on sale in Spring 2002.
