The corrosion-resistant properties of high-performance nickel-base alloys can reportedly be imparted to diverse materials by gluing ultra-thin sheets of nickel-base alloys to a wide variety of substrates, in a process developed by Krupp VDM, Germany. The technology enables the wall thickness to be reduced to below 1 mm, which could never be achieved by roll or explosive cladding.
