Caption: A metal-supported catalyst system called Metalit has been developed for heat resistance and durability by Emitec, Auburn Hills, Mich. The system is composed of specially coated 0.05mm thick corrugated metallic foil that is coiled into an S design. It is heat resistant and durable, and can be placed closer to the engine for quicker heat up and faster reduction of emissions.
