The word armor brings to mind medieval knights arrayed in suits of steel armor and shirts of chain mail, riding large steeds also covered with protective steel. Although such armor provided protection to the knights of old, it reduced speed and agility drastically. These days, horses have been replaced by a variety of vehicles, including battle tanks and armored personnel carriers.
