A series of thirteen stainless steel 316L rotor hubs that operate in a rotary pump for processing foods are sinter-bonded together to create a structurally sound interface. The parts are made to a density of 7.7 g/[cm.sup.3] and have ultimate tensile strength of 585 MPa (85 ksi), yield strength of 3l0 MPa (45 ksi), and elongation of 45%.
