Composite wind towers constructed of composite materials woven into lattices of reinforcing pyramids have been developed by Pyramatrix Structures Inc., Salt Lake City, Utah. The Pyramatrix name is based on pyramids in a matrix of triangles. According to the company, the towers are 76% lighter than aluminum, 93% lighter than steel, and 25 times stronger than steel.
