Nanolayers of aluminum and nickel that bond ceramics and metals have reportedly been developed by Reactive NanoTechnologies, Baltimore, Md. A thin sheet of foil made up of nanoscale layers of alternating materials, makes it possible to create ultra-strong bonds without overheating components and without the presence of oxygen.
