George F. Closs, 89, North Rose, N.Y., died 25 September 2001. As a lifetime New York resident, he earned a degree in electrical engineering from Rochester Mechanics Institute, and in metallurgy from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He worked at Garlock Industries in Palmyra for 30 years as a design engineer.
