A welding and polishing process is being implemented to restore flow-liner integrity to design condition on the Space Shuttles Atlantis and Endeavour, reports the NASA Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas. The purpose of the liners, which are inside the main propulsion system fuel lines, is to prevent turbulence as liquid hydrogen and oxygen flow into the engines.
