Spectra Technologies Spectra fiber is a high molecular weight polyethylene (HMPE) fiber that is pound-for-pound ten times stronger than steel and has a specific strength that is 40% tougher than aramid fiber. Honeywell scientists use Spectra fiber to produce Spectra Shield through their patented Shield technology process.
