Metallofullerenes containing up to three different metal atoms and a nitrogen atom enclosed in a cage of carbon have reportedly been developed by Luna Innovations, Blacksburg, Va. Called trimetaspheres, the structures are said to be highly stable, and the production process results in high yields.
