The ASM Chicago Chapter explored the fascinating world of nanostructures during its October monthly meeting. Guest speaker, Prof. Michael Stroscio, professor of bioengineering and electrical & computer engineering, University of Illinois, discussed "Material Properties and Applications of Nanostructures." He described how in recent years nano research efforts in traditionally disparate disciplines of physics, biology and chemistry have merged toward development of new devices that have no present day counterparts.
