A color infusion technology named Aura has been launched by Plastics Div., Bayer Corp., Pittsburgh, Pa., as part of its Fantasia color and special effects program for engineering resins. The process infuses the surface of clear, translucent, or opaque white thermoplastic parts with color. The already-molded parts are immersed in a heated bath containing a mostly aqueous dispersion of dye and a polymer-friendly surfactant.
