Premium stainless free-machining alloys that are said to provide more lot-to-lot consistency, faster machining speeds, better part output, and less tool wear have been announced by Carpenter Technology, Reading, Pa. Called Project 70+, the alloys are designed for demanding applications in the aerospace, industrial, and automotive industries.
