A family of engineered aluminum products based on alloy 6061 that is said to provide enhanced lot-to-lot and piece-to-piece consistency for extruded rods in diameters up to three inches has been developed by Kaiser Aluminum, Houston, Texas. Called Precision Rod, it is the first of a new line of extruded screw machine products offering very close dimensional tolerances, elevated mechanical properties, improved surface finish, and improved straightness.
