Henry Ford did not invent either the automobile or the assembly line. Instead, he had a huge impact by perfecting the assembly line to produce cars that almost anyone could buy, and by trying to find new materials to make them stronger and lighter. His contribution was his dedication to two fundamental ideas: build cars better, and make them cheaper.
