A super--elasto--plastic titanium alloy with low Young's modulus and high strength has reportedly been developed by Toyota Central Labs Inc., Japan. Its elastic properties enable cold working to 999% at room temperature, and strength can be increased to 2100 MPa (300 ksi) by applying a simple heat treatment process.
