A lightly crosslinked olefinic thermoset polymer that is reaction injection molded(RIM) into a one-piece hood has replaced an assembly of metal parts in this John Deere tractor, reports Metton Europe, Dusseldorf, Germany. Made of Metton Liquid Molding Resin, the hoods for the six-cylinder tractors weigh 44 lb.
