Analysis software for determining the various thickness parameters of porous or compact coatings has been announced by Soft Imaging System Corp., Lakewood, Colo. Called Layer Thickness Measurement (LTM), the tool also enables extremely precise measurement of crack width. LTM measures layer thickness of single and multiple coatings for a cut specimen based on the concept of "neutral fibers," which predefine the direction of the measurement.
