Northrop Grumman modernizes composite shipbuilding operation.(Advances in Military Materials)

Northrop Grumman has begun a $64 million modernization project at its Ship System sector's Gulfport Operations, which will create the first large-scale advanced composite manufacturing facility for producing U.S. Navy and Coast Guard ships. Of the total, $30 million will increase capacity for composite construction, $19 million will improve ship construction and outfitting, and $7 million will go toward upgrading distributive systems.
