A family of reinforcements made of ultrahigh-strength twisted steel wire has been developed for thermoset, thermoplastic, and other resin systems by Hardwire LLC, Pocomoke City, Md. Called Hardwire, the steel wire is said to be priced like glass, yet reportedly functions like carbon. It can be used to strengthen steel, wood, or concrete structures in both new construction and in retrofit applications.
