PVD steel, nickel finishes resist corrosion and abrasion.(Surface Engineering)
Advanced Materials & Processes, December, 2003
Steel and nickel coatings applied by its patented physical vapor deposition (PVD) process enable resistance to corrosion, abrasion, and wear, according to Vapor Tech, Longmont, Colo. The finish is said to be "virtually dimensionless," as thin as 100 nm. The PVD process has the ability to apply the atomically bonded materials by a low-temperature, environmentally benign process.
