Silicon carbide transistors could cut in half the size, weight, and cost of components, says SemiSouth Laboratories Inc., Starkville, Miss. The company, with funding from the Missile Defense Agency, is developing silicon carbide transistors that could replace traditional silicon transistors in existing applications.
