A family of nickel-base metal matrix composites manufactured by a hot isostatic pressing process that transforms a proprietary mix of powdered metals into a hard corrosion-resistant surface has been designed by Cignys, Saginaw, Mich. Called Sagittite, the materials are made by a solid-state diffusion process.
