Almost 70 yards (64 m) of flexible cable circuits made of thin DuPont Pyralux laminates and composites provide a volume savings of 60% to 70% in the Mars rovers Spirit and Opportunity, reports DuPont Electronic Technologies, Wilmington, Del. The flexible circuits connect the computer controller to the robotic arm, cameras, antenna, wheels, and sensors.
