A polycarbonate (PC) functional rapid prototyping modeling material has been developed for medical and food applications by Stratasys, Minneapolis, Minn. Stratasys makes the rapid prototyping system known as fused deposition modeling (FDM). Called PC-ISO, the material meets ISO 10993-1 and USP Class VI standards, the most stringent of the six USP ratings.
