Swirl enthalpy equilibration cuts cast aluminum porosity.(Forming/Processing)

A manufacturing technology that reduces porosity in high-performance aluminum auto castings has reportedly been developed by Alcan and others at the National Research Canada Aluminum Technology Centre, Boucherville, Quebec. The process, which has been patented by Alcan, is based on its Swirl Enthalpy Equilibration Device (SEED).
