An iron-chromium alloy has been developed for good high-temperature stability, high electrical conductivity, and low coefficient of expansion by ThyssenKrupp AG, Germany. Called Crofer 22 APU, the alloy was developed for the interconnector plates of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC). The SOFC stack is made up of several interconnected fuel cells.
