Steel products that are formed and bonded with a polymer in a single step in a process known as Polymer Injection Forming (PIF) has been developed by Corus Group, The Netherlands. Steel coated with thin layer of polymer is not new. However, in PIF, the steel and polymer are shaped in one step, and a thicker layer of polymer is bonded to the steel.
