Ferrari Challenge Stradale rides on all-titanium springs.(Automotive Materials)

On the 2004 Ferrari Challenge Stradale, which was derived from the Ferrari 360 Modena, titanium is used for the first time on a production sports car for the suspension springs and the wheel bolts, reports Timet Automotive, Morgantown, Pa. The titanium front springs yield a 39% weight savings over the Modena's high strength steel, and the rears, which are a complex dual rate design, yield a 28% savings.
