After all, materials science and engineering are very data-intensive. Where are the "materials equivalents" of CAD and CAE? The answer to that question is a new generation of software systems and initiatives that are focusing on materials IT capabilities for engineering organizations of all types and sizes, where detailed high quality information about materials behavior is a prerequisite.
