Electron beams reshape metal surfaces to promote joining.(Welding/Joining)

A joining technology in which electron beams precisely reshape metal surfaces by growing protrusions that rise from the surface of the material has been developed by TWI, Cambridge, England. Called Surfi-Sculpt, the protrusions and intrusions can be created in controlled arrays and with physical parameters that can be modified with extreme precision.
