Short, fast laser pulses micromachine precision holes.(Forming/Processing)

A tool that produces very short pulses of laser light for precision micromachining of high-quality holes has been developed by Clark-MXR Inc., Ann Arbor, Mich., with funding from the Missile Defense Agency, Alexandria, Va. The purpose of the development is to replace conventional machine tools for micro-machining holes, because conventionally micromachined holes require substantial post-processing and have poorer yields.
