21st century model of lean manufacture opens in Dearborn Ford Motor Company has opened the new Dearborn Truck Plant, a 21st century model of manufacturing sustainability. The truck plant is a key part of the company's commitment to become a lean, flexible and green manufacturer. The new plant and the revitalized Ford Rouge Center are manufacturing models for the 21st century, incorporating lean, flexible, and sustainable manufacturing processes in a state-of-the art facility, while honoring the site's historic past and enhancing the environment.
