Glass and carbon fibers combine to make strong rotor.(Polymers/Ceramics)

A wind energy rotor blade 61.5 meters long has reportedly been fabricated of glass and carbon fibers by a new design and manufacturing process developed by LM Glasfiber, Denmark. Called FutureBlade, the technology enables combining glass and carbon fibers in new ways that allow weight to be reduced to less than 18 metric tons.
