Terahertz radiation technology that enables operators to identify weapons, explosives, and drugs carried by people has been developed by TeraView Ltd., Cambridge, England. Terahertz radiation ([10.sup.-12] hertz) lies between microwaves and radio waves in the electromagnetic spectrum. Until now, it has not been possible to generate terahertz radiation with enough energy to be useful.
