The effects of friction stir welding on the zinc-aluminum superplastic alloy Zn-22Al were discussed in terms of weldability and residual microstructures in a paper presented at the 2004 International Offshore and Polar Engineering Conference by T. Nishihara of Kokushikan University, Tokyo, Japan.
