A low-cost tire-pressure monitoring system developed by SmarTire Systems Inc., Richmond, British Columbia, has structural parts made of DuPont Zytel HTN polyamide and Zytel nylon 66, according to DuPont Engineering Polymers, Troy, Mich. The sensor must be able to withstand loads produced by centrifugal forces up to 3000 times normal gravity.
