The Lehigh Valley (Pa.) Chapter's Materials Camp reached high school participants in a compelling way this July. Sixteen high school participants spent a week at the day camp at Lehigh University in a lab-based setting designed and instructed by graduate students. Positive feedback, the obvious connection between students and instructors and a disposable lab item with "Materials Camp Rules" penciled onto it ensure the camp was a huge success! This chapter's Materials Camp was co-sponsored by Carpenter Technology Corporation, Reading, Pa.
and Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pa. Graduate students from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Lehigh volunteered their time to develop lesson plans with Materials In Transportation, Materials in Sports,...
