This issue of AM & P includes the first issue of the Materials and Processes for Medical Devices newsletter, which will be a quarterly publication beginning in January 2005. The MPMD newsletter is the result of two successful ASM conferences of the same name. At the second conference this past August, many attendees expressed interest in a newsletter that would focus on the materials, surface treatments, and processes involved with the production of biomedical implants.
