Honda's Legend luxury sedan incorporates many materials to increase strength and reduce weight. High-tensile strength steel is used in 50% of the body frame's main structural components, making the frame approximately 19 kg lighter than frames made of conventional materials. Aluminum, magnesium, carbon-fiber reinforced plastic, and other lightweight materials are in the body, chassis, and other parts.
The engine has magnesium cylinder head covers, the intake manifold is made of a two-piece aluminum die casting, and the drive shaft is made of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic. ...
