Thunderous silence.(EDITORIAL)

This past January, we made a radical change in the AM & P cover logo, so radical that we wondered how many ASM members would recognize the magazine. After all, the logo had remained the same since 1985! We wondered how many readers would call or send e-mails with their comments, but the silence was thunderous.

[ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] In January of 2004, we began a new department called Stress Relief, a fun page with bits of materials trivia, cartoons, jokes, and photomicrographs. We wanted to encourage readers to contribute, so we placed a note at the bottom of the page offering a cool mini multi-tool to anyone who sent in a joke or interesting trivia fact.
