Wine bottle closure system eliminates need for corkscrew.(OF MATERIAL INTEREST)

The threaded anchor for the patented twist-to-uncork wine bottle closure system designed by Gardner Technologies Inc., Napa, Calif., is made of a 45% glass-reinforced grade of Amodel polyphthalamide (PPA), a product of Solvay Advanced Polymers LLC, Alpharetta, Ga. Gardner's MetaCork consists of a hard plastic capsule with a threaded interior surface, a matching plastic threaded cap, and a natural or synthetic cork fitted with a threaded Amodel PPA anchor that is screwed into the cork during bottling of the wine.
